Description

Lovers Pen contains Bremelanotide (PT-141), a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide derived from alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Bremelanotide acts primarily as a melanocortin receptor agonist, with a high affinity for MC3R and MC4R, receptors involved in regulating sexual desire and arousal.

Unlike medications that improve blood flow, PT-141 works by stimulating specific pathways within the brain responsible for sexual motivation, making it suitable for supporting libido in both men and women.

Mechanism of Action

Bremelanotide works by activating melanocortin receptors within the hypothalamus and other areas of the central nervous system involved in sexual behaviour and desire. Its actions include:

• Enhancing sexual desire and arousal through central nervous system pathways
• Supporting dopamine and other neurotransmitters involved in motivation and sexual response
• Improving libido independently of vascular function
• Producing mild melanotropic effects, such as increased skin pigmentation, at higher cumulative doses

Because PT-141 targets the brain rather than blood vessels, its mechanism differs significantly from PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil.

Contraindications & Warnings

Warnings

• Use only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
• This product is not intended to replace treatment for psychological, medical, or relationship-related causes of sexual dysfunction.
• Temporary darkening of skin pigmentation or existing moles may occur with repeated use.
• Stop using the product immediately and seek medical advice if severe nausea, allergic reactions, chest pain, or significantly elevated blood pressure develops.

Dosage & Administration

Route: Subcutaneous injection only

Recommended Dose:

• Standard Dose: 1.0–1.75 mg (24–42 clicks)
• Starting Dose: 0.5–1.0 mg (12–24 clicks) for first-time users

Frequency:

• Use as required, approximately 45–60 minutes before sexual activity
• Do not exceed one dose within 24 hours
• Maximum 8 doses per month

Administration Instructions

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before use.
2. Attach a new sterile needle.
3. Dial the prescribed number of clicks.
4. Clean the injection site (abdomen or thigh) with an alcohol swab.
5. Insert the needle at a 45–90° angle and inject slowly.
6. Remove and safely dispose of the needle.
7. Replace the pen cap after use.
8. Rotate injection sites to reduce irritation.
9. Inspect the solution before each use. Do not use if the solution appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains visible particles.

Possible Side Effects

Lovers Pen is generally well tolerated, although some users may experience mild, temporary side effects, including:

• Nausea (most common)
• Facial flushing
• Headache or light-headedness
• Injection-site redness or irritation
• Temporary darkening of freckles, moles, or skin pigmentation
• Rare increases in blood pressure
• Occasional fatigue or vomiting

Discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately if severe nausea, allergic reactions, chest pain, breathing difficulty, or cardiovascular symptoms occur.

Storage & Handling

• Store refrigerated or in a cool, dry place (≤25–30°C / 77–86°F).
• Do not freeze.
• Keep the pen capped and protected from direct light and excessive heat.
• After first use, continue storing under the same recommended conditions.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date or if the solution becomes cloudy or abnormal in appearance.
