Description

Tesa Lean Pen contains Tesamorelin, a synthetic analogue of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH)engineered to stimulate the body's natural production of growth hormone. The peptide consists of 44 amino acids with a trans-3-hexenoyl modification at the N-terminal tyrosine, enhancing stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation while preserving full biological activity.

Unlike exogenous growth hormone, Tesamorelin promotes the body's own physiological release of growth hormone through the pituitary gland, maintaining the normal feedback mechanisms that regulate growth hormone and IGF-1 production.

Mechanism of Action

Tesamorelin binds selectively to Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH) receptors located on somatotroph cells within the anterior pituitary gland. This stimulates pulsatile secretion of endogenous growth hormone, resulting in several beneficial metabolic effects.

Contraindications & Warnings

Do not use if you have:

• Known hypersensitivity to Tesamorelin, mannitol, or any formulation ingredient
• Active malignancy or current neoplastic disease
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Age under 18 years
• Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C)
• Known pituitary tumour or intracranial lesion

Warnings

• Use only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
• Regular monitoring of IGF-1, blood glucose, lipid profile, and other clinical parameters is recommended.
• Tesamorelin may increase the risk of glucose intolerance or worsen existing diabetes.
• Temporary fluid retention, joint discomfort, muscle aches, or symptoms consistent with carpal tunnel syndrome may occur.
• Rare cases of intracranial hypertension and hypersensitivity reactions have been reported.
• This product should not replace a healthy diet, regular exercise, or approved medical treatments for metabolic disorders.
• Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if severe headache, vision changes, allergic reactions, or significant abdominal pain develop.

Dosage & Administration

Route: Subcutaneous injection only.

Recommended Timing:

• Preferably at bedtime on an empty stomach, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Administration Instructions

1. Wash your hands thoroughly and prepare a clean work area.
2. Attach a new sterile needle.
3. Dial the prescribed number of clicks.
4. Clean the injection site (preferably the abdomen) using an alcohol swab.
5. Insert the needle at a 45-90° angle and inject slowly.
6. Remove the needle and dispose of it safely.
7. Replace the protective cap after each use.
8. Rotate abdominal injection sites daily to minimise irritation.
9. Always inspect the solution before use. Do not administer if it appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains visible particles.

Side Effects

Tesamorelin is generally well tolerated when used as directed. Potential side effects may include:

• Mild injection-site redness, swelling, itching, or discomfort
• Fluid retention or peripheral oedema
• Joint pain, muscle aches, or stiffness
• Headache
• Temporary elevations in blood glucose levels
• Mild hypersensitivity reactions, including rash or hives

Less common reactions may include:

• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Gynecomastia

Most adverse effects are mild to moderate and often improve with continued use. If severe or persistent symptoms develop, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.

Storage & Handling

• Store refrigerated or in a cool, dry location (≤25-30°C / 77-86°F).
• Do not freeze.
• Keep the pen capped and protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
• After first use, continue storing under the same recommended conditions.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Discard if expired or if the solution becomes cloudy, discoloured, or contains visible particles.
